This weekend is my last bit of free time before my classes start up again (after my big 1 week off). So of course I'm trying to cram as much in as possible! This morning I ran a 5K with my friend Melissa. It was a really nice course around downtown Bethlehem around the Celtic Classic grounds. The early 8am start was a bit rough for a Saturday but we made it :) The picture to the left was taken by my mom on her cell phone (I photoshopped the logo in). After the race my parents came over and helped me plant about 150 bulbs plus 4 mums! Now all I have to do is wait for spring to see all of our hard work pay off! I am trying to compile pictures for a "photo wall" in our family room / bar area. I have the pictures, I just have to put everything together...thats another thing I want to do at some point this weekend. Tomorrow I am planning on trying to get the inside of our house straightened up since it's been somewhat neglected with the busyness of summer, my classes, and our work schedules.
Next Sunday is our first wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's been a year already!! We are taking a long weekend and driving out to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water in western PA. We're staying in a bed and breakfast called Lady of the Lake. I'm sure I'll take lots of pictures so I'll post some afterwards!

Doggie Dash

Today I took Annabelle to a Doggie Dash. It was sponsored by Pet Supplies Plus to benefit the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. They held it down in Nolde Forest State Park near Reading. It wasn't a bad drive. My brother Matt and his dog Penny came along too. We signed up for the 2 mile walk. The trails were very nice and it was a beautiful day! There were all kinds of dogs there. I thought it was going to be mostly sporty dogs but there was everything from an English Mastiff to a little Chihuahua! I forgot to take pictures at the event, but here is one of Annabelle in her new "race t-shirt"! (they were included in our goodie bags... along with a ton of free dog food samples). Annie did pretty well with the distance. They divided the walkers and the runners into different courses but somehow the walkers took a wrong turn and only ended up doing about 1/2 mile so we decided to go on the runners course (they were long gone by that point) and I think it ended up being a little further than 2 miles...maybe even a 5K. I ended up having to carry Annabelle for only about 5 min toward the end, but I was really proud of her! Poor little Gus had to stay at home, he would never have made it the whole way. I felt so bad leaving him though! Overall it was a really fun event... I'm going to try to find some more like it to take her on and maybe some shorter ones that Gus can partake in as well!
